Our Christian School
My name is Esther and I am part of the team at St. John’s Church. My main role is working with children and families, which is an amazing job to have. I come into the school each week to lead collective worship and run a Christian lunch club. I moved to Medway in September 2021 with my husband and two primary school aged children. I love drinking tea, playing board games with my kids, and meeting with friends. I have already met a number of you at the craft afternoons we have done at school and I look forward to meeting more of you. If there is anything we can do to support you as a family do contact me on esther@stjohnschatham.co.uk
CHRISTMAS IS ALWAYS A SPECIAL EVENT AT OUR SCHOOL
Rev Luke Bacon
Hi, my name is Luke and I’m one of the ministers at St John’s Chatham. I joined the team in March 2021 and since then it has been amazing to see the building reopened for worship on Sundays and for lots of different activities during the week. It has also been great getting to know students, staff and families at St John’s Infant School and we’re really looking forward to the church and school working more closely together in the future! My wife Becci and I have two wonderful daughters; one in primary school and one at secondary school (being a father of a teenage girl is definitely an adventure). I love sport (especially football and golf) and enjoy playing and listening to music. If we haven’t met already I look forward to meeting you soon.
Our whole school enjoy visiting St John's Church
Easter time is special for us at our school too
Rev Martyn Saunders, is a key part of our school family.
"Hi, I am Martyn Saunders, leader of St John's church. I am delighted to work in partnership with the school and with Mike Dare at Church Army to help your children make the most of the opportunities to discover God and faith in Him whilst at St John's school. As a church school I know that Mrs Collman and all the staff are fully committed to the vision statement of "Growing and Flourishing in God's love". That's my prayer and work too as I join the school family in seeking to see that be true for all children in the school.
I've been in Medway since 2010 as vicar of St Philip and St James church, Walderslade and we're the people behind the reopening of St John's as a church and as a building.
We are here for the whole family - not just children, so if for whatever reason you want to get in touch then I'd be delighted to hear from you and will help in whatever way I can. The easiest way to contact me is on email: martyn@stjohnschatham.co.uk or text me on 0 7 9 4 1 9 1 2 8 5 4."
