Butterfly class
Term 1
This term has been incredibly busy! We have been getting to know each other, exploring the classroom and all the interesting items we have to use and play with.
For many of us it’s been difficult to leave our parents and get used to this new way of life that we call school... but we’ve grown to understand that our teachers and our school is a fun, safe and caring space for us to thrive in.
The most amazing changes have been that we are becoming more confident and able to join in with new types of learning like phonics and discussions on the carpet. We’ve worked hard to establish routines and how to move about the classroom and whole school safely. We even had a fire alarm practice and everyone was so impressed with our lining up and how calm we were!
We’ve explored lots of topics we are interested in, like ourselves, the solar system, our families, the season of Autumn and not to mention water! It’s one of our main interests and while there has been lots of wet clothes this term, we are already showing that our understanding of how to use the resources are developing... our clothes are staying dryer!
Next term we will be building on our new skills of listening so that we can learn more about our next topic, Space! We will continue to practice our phonics sounds and begin to write words using the sounds we know. We will also be discussing festivals and celebrations of significance.
Well done Butterflies, we are so proud of your progress already! Let’s keep it up!
