Celebrating Our Pupils' Achievements

At St John's Church of England Infant School, we are proud of the progress and achievements of our children across all year groups.

Our assessment outcomes demonstrate the strong foundations we provide for learning and personal development. During the previous Key Stage 1 assessment cycle, pupils achieved results above national averages in Reading, Writing and Mathematics combined, with 62% reaching the expected standard compared with 59% nationally.

Reading was a particular strength, with 76% of pupils achieving the expected standard and 29% working at greater depth, significantly above national figures. Writing outcomes were also strong, with 67% meeting the expected standard and 19% achieving greater depth, more than double the national average.

Our Early Years outcomes continue to show positive improvement, with 69% of children achieving a Good Level of Development, reflecting the high-quality provision in our Reception class and the strong start children receive at St John's.

As a small school, outcomes can naturally vary from year to year due to the size of individual cohorts. What remains consistent is our commitment to ensuring every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their personal best within our nurturing Christian community.

We are particularly proud of the individualised support we provide, enabling children to flourish academically, socially and spiritually. Our focus remains on developing confident learners, enthusiastic readers and well-rounded young people who are fully prepared for the next stage of their education.
