Bright Lights, Big City!

The children have really enjoyed learning all about London this term and finding out about important landmarks. We had lots of fun learning about the importance of maps and even drew own own maps featuring landmarks such as the London Eye and Big Ben! The children explored different traditional songs and really enjoyed learning 'London's Burning', we then drew our own pictures of London on fire.

In Science the children have enjoyed learning about different types of weather and even had a go at making their own windsocks. We had lots of fun measuring the wind and recording it in our books. We also learned about forecasts and answered different scientific questions. In Design&Technology this term, we have been investigating wheels and axles, we had lots of fun experimenting with movement and discovered that objects move more smoothly on wheels.

In RE the children have been learning about the Easter Story. We explored how Christians celebrate Easter and why it is a special time. We had lots of fun retelling the Easter Story and wrote some lovely sentences in our books to show our understanding of the key events.

In computing we have continued to develop our skills by exploring the keyboard. We now know how to edit our text using the toolbar and understand the importance of the backspace, delete and CapsLock key.

We have had lots of fun over the last couple of terms in Butterfly Class and we enjoy coming to school to learn new things!
