At our last Ofsted - 2018 we were awarded a GOOD status and in December 2019 we achieved good in our SIAMS church inspection and the highest award of excellent for our Collective Worship.
Our school is part of an academy partnership with All Saints, St James and St Margaret’s, three like minded “Good” church schools with the ultimate shared aim of 'Maximising Achievement & Succeeding Together'
St John’s is a very friendly, supportive and nurturing school and we are proud of our relationship between school, parents/carers, Church and our community. We have high expectations for the children in our care, not only for academic success but in all aspects of their personal achievement. We firmly believe that children learn best and are most positive about their school experiences when they have high self-esteem, self-worth and respect for others and these are developed through our Christian vision and associated values.

We encourage our children to work to the best of their ability in all aspects of school life – academically, socially , spiritually and emotionally – thus equipping them to be valuable citizens of the future.
St John’s aims to provide a broad, inclusive, exciting and challenging high quality education that helps the children develop into independent young people. We provide a stimulating environment with our Christian vision and values running through the heart of all we do as we strive to raise achievement and develop a love for learning. We identify their strengths quickly and children are encouraged to explore their talents from a young age within our rich curriculum.
Providing enhancement opportunities of cultural capital and cultural entitlement is at the core of our practice. Every child has a spark inside him or her and it’s our responsibility to ignite that spark.
Through the extension of language, and through the introduction of interesting resources, trips, visitors and outings – we aim to deepen children’s understanding and strengthen their language.
Our school is a great place to strengthen children’s social and cultural capital through language, social opportunities, cultural experiences and friendships.
We are committed to the partnership of home and school and aim to work closely together to foster good behaviour and attitudes and a love for learning and each other. With parent/carers support and the dedication of the staff our aim is for all children to achieve the highest standards, be happy and enjoy their school experience.
