Term 5

What have we been up to this term?

Rabbit Class has had a fantastic term and we have all done lots of great learning! Our topic for this term was 'plants', the children enjoyed our florist role play area where they acted out lots of different scenarios with their friends. The children learnt how plants grow and even planted their very own sunflower. All of the children learnt what a flower needs to grow healthy and created their very own flower paintings. In English this term, the children have been exploring 'Jack and the Beanstalk', the classroom was transformed into a fairytale and all of the children enjoyed exploring the beanstalk! The children took part in some exciting activities, they explored the Giant small world area, sequenced the story using pictures and even used leaves to print their very own beanstalks.

In Maths this term the children have been learning how to double and half! The children have used a range of different resources to help them with their learning and we even created a doubling den in the classroom. The children used beanbags to help them share equally and we had a giant ladybird in the classroom to help us with our doubling skills. The children continued to practice their number formation and recognition, we used the interactive whiteboard to draw lots of number lines! We have made the most of the sunny weather this term and spent lots of time outside. Rabbit Class have loved accessing the water area and there has been lots of painting outside.

What else has happened this term?

The children have had an exciting term and taken part in lots of exciting activities. We went on a whole school trip to Victoria Gardens to observe the different nature we could see and had lots of fun using the climbing equipment. We had a special visit and talk from an ambulance crew, the children got to sit in the ambulance and really enjoyed learning about how these people help us. We celebrated a very special event during the last week of term, the Queens Jubilee! We had a fantastic day celebrating with bouncy castles, biscuit decorating and games.
