Church of England Infant School

A small school with a big heart, a great place to grow.

Term 4

What have we been learning...

In Term 4 in English we have been learning about capital letters, full stops and writing in full sentences. This is very grown up work and we get very excited when we write a whole sentence independently using our phonic knowledge and an adult can read it back.

In Maths we have been learning to add and subtract numbers and write our own number sentences by working practically and using cubes initially and then record in our own way. We have improved at explaining how we worked out the answer.

In RE we learnt all about the Easter story and we had a wonderful day visiting Rochester Cathedral on the train and participating in their fun Easter workshops.

What else happened this term?

We really enjoyed learning about dinosaurs as part of our topic, especially finding out which ones were meat eaters (carnivores) and which ones only ate plants (herbivores). We listened to lots of dinosaur stories and shared many non-fiction (finding out) books together as well as using the computers to explore the DKFindout Dinosaurs website and play some interactive games.
