It has been great to have all the children back in school...we have really missed them!
Our literacy work this term has been based on the traditional tales, The three little pigs and little red riding hood. These are exciting stories that the children all now know very well. The children acted out each story during role play sessions, wrote sentences relating to each tale and created some fantastic art for our classroom displays.
We have also been learning about capital letters, full stops and writing in full sentences. This is very grown up work and we get very excited when we write a whole sentence independently using our phonic knowledge and an adult can read it back.
In Maths we did a lot of number revision in maths in case children had forgotten their learning due to the lockdown. We revised one more than and began looking at simple addition and writing our own number sentences - adding two groups together. We did this by working practically and using cubes initially and then recordIng in our own way. We have improved at explaining how we worked out the answer. In topic and RE, we have completed work on what happens in spring and learnt all about the Easter story.
