Term 4
What have we been learning about this term?
This term, the children have had a fantastic time learning all about minibeasts! We went on a fun minibeast hunt around the school and found lots of interesting insects to observe using our magnifying glasses...everyone was very brave! Our story for this term was 'Yucky Worm', we learnt how worms survive in our gardens and even created our very own worm farm using soil and sand. It was very interesting to observe our class worms and watch them wriggle around in our worm farm. The children had lots of fun painting their own yucky worms and wrote some fantastic sentences in their books to accompany their paintings.
In Math's this term we have continued to practice our addition skills and writing our own number sentences. The children had lots of fun adding two groups together using different toy minibeasts! Once the children had become confident with addition sums, we introduced subtraction...they did a super job! We learnt how numbers get smaller when we subtract and practiced writing subtraction sums in our books. The children also learnt about symmetry and painted their own butterfly wings to demonstrate what they had learnt.
What else has happened this term?
This term, the children have really enjoyed their music lessons and using the musical instruments in the outside area! The school went on a fantastic trip to the library and designed their own bookmarks. Rabbit Class really enjoyed going on a book hunt and exploring the different areas of the library. The whole school really enjoyed celebrating World Book Week and we all took part in some fantastic activities. Rabbit Class read 'Super worm' and really enjoyed playing with the yucky noodle worms. We transformed the classroom into super worms gym and got super strong.
