Term 3
Fire! Fire!
This term, Owl class went back in time to 1666 to learn all about the Great Fire of London. We enjoyed learning lots of interesting facts, created silhouette fire paintings and made sure that the oven was turned off properly!
In maths, we focused on learning to tell the time and how to share using fractions. Our English lessons were based around a story called 'Traction Man'. We wrote character descriptions, diary entries and finally wrote our own sequels to the story. We read lots of poetry and wrote and performed our own poems.
We have really enjoyed having a music teacher visiting our class to teach us how to sing and use instruments correctly.
We talked a lot about staying safe and had a special visitor come into school to teach us about road safety. Remember: stop, look, listen, think!

What else happened this Term?
We celebrated Chinese New Year...the year of the Rat! In class, we made Chinese lanterns and learned how to say a few words in Mandarin. A professional dancer came into school and taught us some Chinese dancing. Our favourite part was when we performed a dragon dance. Donna created a fantastic Chinese lunch which was delicious. We also had a visit from Chartwells who taught us how to make healthy stir fry noodles. We enjoyed eating them!
