A small school with a big heart, a great place to grow.

Term 3

Squirrel Class have worked extremely hard this term and have produced some amazing pieces of work. In maths we have been learning about addition and subtraction, number bonds to 20 and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

One of the books we have focused on this term is ‘The Emperor’s egg’. We learnt about the Antarctica and the life cycle of a penguin. Another book we focused on in our English lessons was ‘The Jolly Postman’. We firstly predicated where we thought the Jolly Postman was going to go. We then made a story map of the Jolly Postman’s journey and the different houses he visited. We then finished by writing a letter to the Jolly Postman to thank him for letting us read his book.

In science we have been learning about the different types of everyday materials and in Geography we have found out lots of interesting facts about the UK!

Squirrel class really enjoyed the last week of term 3, which was around the world week. We choose the country France. We tasted some French food, learnt how to say some French words and found out lots of cool facts about France!

Well done for all you hard work this term! I hope you all have a great break and I look forward to seeing you back in school on Monday 21st February.
