Term 1

This term we have learnt four different European artists: Matisse, Van Gogh, Miro and Klee.  We looked carefully at the style and the types of media they used and then created our own artwork in the same style.  We have some fantastic collages, self-portraits and paintings decorating our classroom now.

We all enjoyed reading and writing about The Lonely Beast.  We designed our own beasts and wrote to the Lonely Beast offering to be his friend.  We then wrote diary entries pretending to be The Lonely Beast about our journey to reach our new friend.  We had some pretty scary looking beasts in our class during our acting sessions!

We have been learning how to solve addition and subtraction calculations using the column method.  We are all aiming to be brilliant mathematicians by the end of this year!

We enjoyed our Harvest Assembly and learning about how the food we donated will be helping feed homeless people through the Caring Hands Charity.  Thanks to our generous parents who contributed so much and to everyone at St John's Church who helped us celebrate Harvest.
