TERM 2 2022 CHRISTMAS IS ALWAYS A SPECIAL EVENT AT OUR SCHOOL

Hi my name is Simon and I am the Children's and family's pioneer evangelist  (Church Army) based at St John's Chatham. I have recently moved back to Medway after a brief spell in Pembrokeshire Wales and looking forward to see what God has in store for Chatham. Having already started collective worship in St John's infant and I have got to know many of the students and staff. My passions are running, staying fit (as much as I can) and reading. If you would like to find out more about my role and what Church Army do, just drop me an email simon.morbey@churcharmy.org

Rev Luke Bacon Hi, my name is Luke and I’m one of the ministers at St John’s Chatham. I joined the team in March 2021 and since then it has been amazing to see the building reopened for worship on Sundays and for lots of different activities during the week. It has also been great getting to know students, staff and families at St John’s Infant School and we’re really looking forward to the church and school working more closely together in the future! My wife Becci and I have two wonderful daughters; one in primary school and one at secondary school (being a father of a teenage girl is definitely an adventure). I love sport (especially football and golf) and enjoy playing and listening to music. If we haven’t met already I look forward to meeting you soon.

A special message for all of our families, written in some of the many languages spoken at home by our families.

Our whole school enjoyed visiting St John's Church for Worship in May 2021

Happy Easter - a beautiful collage art piece by all of the pupils in Y1 and Y2

We hope that all of our families and their children stay safe and healthy.

This term we have been joined by Rev Martyn Saunders, we would like to welcome Martyn to our school family.

"Hi, I am Martyn Saunders, leader of St John's church. I am delighted to work in partnership with the school and with Mike Dare at Church Army to help your children make the most of the opportunities to discover God and faith in Him whilst at St John's school. As a church school I know that Mrs Collman and all the staff are fully committed to the vision  statement of "Growing and Flourishing in God's love". That's my prayer and work too as I join the school family in seeking to see that be true for all children in the school.

I've been in Medway since 2010 as vicar of St Philip and St James church, Walderslade and we're the people behind the reopening of St John's as a church and as a building.

We are here for the whole family - not just children, so if for whatever reason you want to get in touch then I'd be delighted to hear from you and will help in whatever way I can. The easiest way to contact me is on email: martyn@stjohnschatham.co.uk or text me on 0 7 9 4 1 9 1 2 8 5 4."

Our school achieved good in our last inspection (December 2019) and we were proud to receive the highest grading of excellent for our Collective Worship.

Pupils, staff and families grow and flourish in God's love at St John's Church of England Infant School.
