Free food during the half-term period for the parents of children entitled to free schools meals.
Dear families,
I am pleased that Medway Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB) is working with the council to provide food during the half-term period for the parents of children entitled to free schools meals.
The scheme will comprise food or vouchers. CAB staff and volunteers will check for allergies and will try to have a healthy balance within the budget for each child. The scheme will be from Monday to Friday (26 October to 30 October) and will consist of a lunch or vouchers. The lunch packages might contain cereal too, if possible.
Eligible parents should contact Medway CAB by email - schoolmeals@medwayadvice.org.uk or phone - 01634 383760. Parents should have available a certificate of eligibility, which they should provide to the CAB staff member or volunteer at the food / voucher collection centre or at their door if the food or vouchers are delivered to then.
However, we are aware that some parents won’t have this to hand, so CAB will accept evidence of:
· Income Support
· income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
· income-related Employment and Support Allowance
· support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
· the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
· Child Tax Credit
· Working Tax Credit run-on
· Universal Credit
