Character Education
We have a strong focus on character education at St John's Church of England Infant school, developing children's values and understanding of our school vision to contribute to a flourishing life.
School community
We regularly work within our school community and local area to support local causes, this develops our children's knowledge, skills and understanding of what playing a part in society as an active citizen actually means.
Pupil choice
Within class and Worship, pupils are invited to choose and suggest charities and causes.
All events are highlighted in a school Worship, often with visitors from the charity to explain its significance.
During Harvest we collect food for our local shelter in Chatham. They come to school for Worship and also come to the service to collect the food.
Character education + Personal, social, moral + spiritual
Children have a weekly PSHE/ Character development circle time to develop and strengthen character and to nurture and challenge them to become confident individuals.
